Classes & Sections
Step 4 — Add all classes (Nursery to 12th) and sections (A, B, C) under each class.
Classes are like “1st”, “2nd”, “10th”. Sections are divisions within a class like “A”, “B”, “C”. Example: Class 5-A, Class 5-B.
Adding Classes
Go to Classes Module
In your dashboard sidebar, click on 'Classes'. Then click 'Add New Class'.
Enter Class Name
Type the class name. Example: 'Nursery', 'LKG', 'UKG', '1st', '2nd'... up to '12th'. Add all classes your school has.
Set Display Order
Set the order so classes appear in the right sequence. Nursery = 1, LKG = 2, and so on.
Save & Repeat
Click Save and repeat for all classes. You can add them one by one. Most Indian schools have 10-15 classes.
Adding Sections
Go to Sections Module
In the sidebar, click 'Sections'. Then click 'Add New Section'.
Enter Section Name
Type section name like 'A', 'B', 'C'. If your school has only one section per class, just add 'A'.
Assign to Class
Select which class this section belongs to. Example: Section 'A' for Class '5th'. You can assign a section to multiple classes.
Set Capacity (Optional)
You can set maximum students allowed in this section. This helps track overcrowding.
Example Setup for Indian School
| Class | Sections | Students per Section |
|---|---|---|
| Nursery | A | 25-30 |
| LKG | A, B | 30-35 |
| UKG | A, B | 30-35 |
| 1st to 5th | A, B, C | 35-40 |
| 6th to 8th | A, B, C | 40-45 |
| 9th to 10th | A, B | 35-40 |
| 11th to 12th | Science, Commerce, Arts | 30-40 |
Remember
You need at least one class and one section before you can add students. If you add classes later, don't worry — you can assign students to new classes anytime.
