Teacher App Guide

Complete guide for teachers to use the School Orbit app — attendance, homework, marks, gatepass, syllabus and more.

Teachers log in with the username and password created from the dashboard. The app is role-based — it automatically shows only the features the teacher has permission to access.

What Teachers Can Do

  • Mark Student Attendance

    Daily class attendance — tap to toggle Present / Absent

  • Mark Exam Attendance

    Mark which students are present during exams

  • Post Homework

    Add homework for any subject — text, photo, or voice

  • Enter Exam Marks

    Add marks from phone while checking answer sheets

  • Manage Exam Setup & Schedule

    Create exams and set the exam timetable

  • View & Manage Students

    View student list, details, and add new students

  • Gatepass Management

    Create, view, and approve student gatepasses

  • Update Syllabus & Chapters

    Mark chapters as completed, track progress

  • Send Notices

    Send direct notices to parents and students

  • View Classes

    See all assigned classes and sections

  • Manage Leaves

    View and approve student leave requests

  • Update Profile & Photo

    Update your profile picture from the app

Note: The Leave tab only appears if the teacher has leave management permission enabled in their role.

Permissions Control What You See

Not all teachers see all features. The app shows only what the teacher's role allows. If a feature is missing, ask the school admin to enable that permission in Roles & Permissions.
