Student Promotion
Promote students to the next class at the end of the academic year — move all students at once or individually.
Important: Promotion should only be done at the end of the academic year. Once promoted, students move to the next class. This action should be done carefully!
How Promotion Works
Bulk Promotion
Move all students of a class to the next class at once. For example: All students of Class 5 → Class 6.
Individual Promotion
Promote specific students — useful when some students fail and need to stay in the same class.
Steps for Bulk Promotion
First, create the new Academic Year (e.g., 2025-26). See Academic Year guide.
Go to Students → Promotion.
Select the Current Academic Year (e.g., 2024-25).
Select the Class you want to promote (e.g., Class 5).
Select the Target Class (e.g., Class 6) and Target Section.
You will see a list of all students. Check/uncheck who should be promoted.
Uncheck students who failed — they will stay in the same class.
Click Promote. All selected students move to the new class!
Things to Keep in Mind
- Promotion is final — double check before confirming.
- Students who pass out from highest class (e.g., 12th) should be marked as "Passed Out".
- The old academic year data (attendance, marks) is preserved — you can view it any time.
- Always promote class by class from the lowest to the highest to avoid conflicts.
